Console Port

The XSR comes equipped with a serial port useful for initial configuration.

Using a serial (null modem) cable, you can attach the router’s DB-9 Console port to a data terminal

port and directly configure the XSR over the asynchronous connection. Then, open a Microsoft

HyperTerminal or Telnet session to communicate with the router. If you use HyperTerminal, set

the connection properties as follows:

• Connect using: Direct to COMx (where x is an unused COM port)

• Bits per second: 9600

• Data bits: 8

•Parity: None

•Stop bits: 1

• Flow control: none
