Considerations Prior to Installation

Wheninstallingtheswitch,notethefollowing:

•Beforestartingtheinstallationprocedure, notifythenetworkadministratorofthe

installation.

•Followtheinstallationproceduresintheorderaspresentedinthisguide.

•DonotconnecttheswitchtothenetworkuntilyouhaveestablishedthecorrectIP

address.

Required Tools

APhillipsscrewdriverisrequiredtoinstalltheswitchintoarack.

Unpacking the Switch

Unpacktheswitchas follows:

1. Opentheboxandremovethepackingmaterialprotectingtheswitch.

2. Verifytha tthecontentsofthecartoncontainstheitemslistedinTable 3‐1.

3. Removethetapesealonthenon‐conductivebagtoremovetheswitch.

4. Pe rformavisualinspectionoftheswitchforany

signsofphysicaldamage.Contact
