Add Site Information
RoamAbout Switch Manager User’s Guide 5-3
3. IntheBuildingNamebox,typethenameofthebuilding(1 to 30alphanumericcharacters,
withnospacesortabs),andclickNext.
4. IntheNumberOfFloorsbox,specifyhowmanyfloorsthebuildinghas.
Whenyouspecifythenumberoffloorsabuildingcontains,RoamAboutSwitchManager
createseachfloor
usingthedefaultsettings.Youcaneditthe floorsRoamAboutSwitch
Managercreatesoryoucanaddnewfloors.
5. IntheStartingFloorLevelbox,specifythefloornumberofthefirstfloorinthebuilding.To
startwithasubterraneanfloor,youcanspecify0oranegativefloornumber.
6. IntheSkipFloorLevelsbox,specifyfloornumbersyouwanttoskip.Skippingfloorsisuseful
whenyouwanttomodelonlycertainfloorsinabuilding.
Use commas to separate the floor
numbers in a list; for example: 1,3,7. Use a hyphen when entering a range; for example: 8-12.
7. ClickFinishtoclosethewizard.
Adding a Floor to the Building
Toaddafloortothebuilding:
1. IntheOrganizerpanel,clickthebuildingname.
2. SelectCreateFloorintheTaskListpanel.TheCreateFloorwizardpromptsyoufor
informationaboutthenewfloor.
3. IntheFloorNamebox,typethenameofthefloor(1 to 60alphanumericcharacters,withno
spaces
ortabs),andclickNext.
4. Tochangethedefaultattenuationforradios,typethenumberofdBinthe802.11a(dB)boxor
802.11b/g(dB)box.
5. IntheHeightoftheCeilingbox,typethenumberoffeetormetersfromthefloortotheceiling
(1 to 1000feetormeters).
6. Click
Finishtoclosethewizard.
7. Whenyouclickonthefloor’snameintheOrganizerpanel,aviewofthefloorplan is
displayedintheContentpanel.Clickontherulericon tosetthescaleofyourfloor.
