Obtaining the Image
ToobtaintheimagefilerequiredtoconvertastandaloneAP3000tothinmode:
1. AccessthedownloadpageontheEnterasyswebsite:
http://www.enterasys.com/services/support/downloads
2. Usethedrop‐downlistatthetopofthepageunderProductstojumprighttotheRoamAbout
WirelessDevicessection,orscrolldowntotheWireless
LANsectiononthepage.
3. FromtheRoamAboutdrop‐downlist,selectRoamAboutWirelessAccessPointManager,
andclickGo!.
TheRoamAboutAccessPointDownloadLibrarypageisdisplayed.
4. IntheRoamAboutSwitchManagementsection,clickontheAP3000ThinBinImageImage
link.
5. ClickonRBT3K‐thin‐bin‐fw.zip.
6. Download
theimagefilenamedRBT3K‐thin‐bin.img.
Configuring the AP3000
ThisproceduredescribeshowtoconfiguretheAP3000throughtheWebinterface.Forinformation
aboutusingtheCLIandconsoleportontheaccesspoint,refertoInitialConfiguration,inthe
RoamAboutAccessPoint3000HardwareInstallationGuide.
Beforestartingthisprocedure,youmustknowtheAP3000’sIPaddress.If
youraccesspointusesa
DHCPassignedIPaddress,makesuretheaccesspointisconnectedtoyournetworkandenterthe
DHCPassignedIPaddressinyourbrowser’saddressfield.(UseyourDHCPserverorotherutility
todeterminetheaccesspoint’sIPaddress.)
TousetheWebinterfaceto
configuretheaccesspoint,performthefollowingsteps:
1. Openawebbrowserandentertheaccesspoint’sIPaddressintheaddressfield.
Theaccesspoint’sLoginwindowappears.
