Deploy Your Configuration
7-2 Managing and Monitoring Your Network
OnceyouarefamiliarwiththeMonitorfunction,thissectionalsoprovidesthreemonitoring
examplesyoucanuseasaguidetotroubleshootinguserconnectivityissuesinyournetwork.
Fordetailedinformationaboutmonitoring,refertothe“MonitoringtheNetwork”chapterinthe
RoamAboutSwitchManagerInterfaceReferenceGuide.
Deploy Your Configuration
AnychangesyoumaketoyournetworkinRASMaresavedinthenetworkplanontheserver,but
thechangesarenotappliedtothenetworkuntiltheyaredeployed.Youviewthe changesin
RASM,butthechangesareonlyinthenetworkplan.Toimplementthechanges in
thelive
network,youmustdeploythemtotheRoamAboutSwitchesinthenetwork.Youcaneasilyapply
aconfigurationtomultipleRoamAboutSwitches,ordeploychangestoasingleRoamAbout
Switch.
RASMallowsyoutodeploychangesimmediatelyorscheduledeploymentofthechanges.
Immediately Deploying Local Changes
Toimmediatelydeploylocalchanges:
1. SelecttheDevicestoolbaroption.
2. AtthebottomoftheTaskListpanel,selectChangeManagement.
3. SelectoneormoreRoamAboutSwitches.
Toselectmultipleswitches,clickonandholdtheShiftkey(forcontiguousswitches)or
Control(fornoncontiguousswitches)whileclickingontheswitches.
4. In
theLocalChangesgroupintheTaskListpanel,clickDeploy.TheDeployConfigurations
dialogboxappears.
Thedialogliststheswitchesthathaveconfigurationchanges.
5. Selecttheswitchestowhichyouwanttodeploythechanges.
ToselectmorethanoneRoamAboutSwitch,clickonandholdtheShiftkey
whileclickingto
selectcontiguousitems,orclickonandholdtheCtrl key(Macintosh:Command)while
clickingtoselectnoncontiguousitems.
6. ClickDeploy.
ThedeploymentstatusforeachaffectedRoamAboutSwitchisshownintheHistorywindow
atthebottomleftofthedialogbox.
RASMperformsverificationof
thechanges.Iferrorsoccur,theyarelistedintheSelected
Errorsatthebottomrightofthedialogbox.Ifthereareerrors,fixthemandverifythechanges
beforetryingtodeployagain.(YoucanusetheVerificationtabtofixtheerrors.)
Ifthedeployissuccessful,RASM
alsoinstructstheRoamAboutSwitchtosavethechangesin
itsconfigurationfile.
