Installing RASM
1-10 Getting Started
Enterthepassword,ifprompted.
Tost op orrestartRASMServices,enterthefollowingcommands:
# sudo ./rm-services stop
# sudo ./rm-services restart
Eitherofthesecommandsmayrequireyoutoenterapassword.Theseexamplesassumethat
RASMServicesisinstalledinthedefaultlocation.
Connect RASM Clients to RASM Services
Toconnecttheclienttoservices:
1. SelectStart>Programs>EnterasysNetworks>RASM.TheRASMServicesConnection
wizardisdisplayed.
2. EntertheIPaddressorfully‐qualifiedhostnameofthemachineonwhichtheserviceis
installed.
IfRASMServicesisinstalledonthesamemachineastheone
youareusingtorunRASM
client,enter127.0.0.1astheIPaddress.ThisisastandardIPloopbackaddress.
3. Specifytheserviceport,ifdifferentfromtheportnumberintheServicePortlistbox.
4. ClickNexttoconnecttotheserver.
5. IftheCertificateCheckdialogisdisplayed,click
Accept.
IfyoulefttheOpenNetworkPlanoptionontheRASMServicesConnectiondialogselected,the
serveropensanew(blank)networkplan.
Note: The port number used by the monitoring service must not be used by another application on
the machine where the monitoring service is installed. If the port number is used by another
application, change the port number on the monitoring service. (Refer to Configure RASM Services
on page 1-11.)
